most y2k shoots i see are cold. a lot of chrome and blue and glass, and nobody really in them. i wanted to make one that felt like actual people. four girls stuck inside a windows home screen, a bit too warm and a bit too human for the place they ended up in. the set is a desktop wallpaper. the girls do not match it, they clash with it, and that is what makes it work. the question mark in the title is honest. i did not know if you could make something this cold feel warm, so i shot it to find out.
