moodboard
i wanted to visualise the mission of VEYO: buy vintage clothing online. be creative. try something new. experiment with colors and materials. there is already so much clothing on this world. stop buying fast fashion. buy vintage.
challenge
VEYO is an online tool that makes buying online vintage clothing easy and convenient. this is because of their unique sizing tool and 'tinder-look-a-like' function. the concept VEYO I made up by myself in the context of consumerism. "less is more"

how do i want people to feel?

lyrics animation brutalismus 3000
end result
inspiration
i wanted to visualise the rawness and context of the artist and song.

for this project, I created a lyrics animation on the song DIE LIEBE KOMMT NICHT AUS BERLIN by brutalismus 3000. the video is made in After Effects and represents the vibe of the song - raw, fast and rebellious. this project was an assignment during the film & motion semester I followed in Berlin.
design choices
what do you see in your head when you see the word?
how does the word feel?
how does the song feel?
/colors
high contrast. intens colors.

big. bold. solid like a rock.

challenge
design and create an animated music video that visually represents the mood and context of a techno song. the animation should align with the lyrics, artist, and the cultural context of the music, while also allowing space for creative experimentation with typography, colors, and imagery. The final animation must show the raw, rebellious energy of the song, with dynamic visual effects that match its fast-paced rhythm and intensity.

process
during this project, i gained a lot of knowledge about after effects and its various effects. it was an interesting and fun way to experiment with the program. additionally, i learned more about typography, its meaning, and how to animate at a (very) fast pace. i am very proud of how the video turned out.

in the libary

challenge
design and develop an interactive "book finder" tool for children in the Amsterdam public library. the tool will help children select books that match their reading level and personal interests. the book finder will be placed within the library itself and should be user-friendly, engaging, and created for young readers.
iterations
this digital product is a tablet application designed for children to search for books that match their interests and reading level.
the project required me to blend my own design style with the established style of the municipality. based on research into the target audience and the client's preferences, i selected the colors, atmosphere, and overall design. i also designed custom fonts and illustrations to make the app engaging and kid-friendly.

/2024

inspó is a magazine created especially for the creative person who is stuck. the magazine is full of photos, illustrations, inspirational words and challenges. the magazine also has a positive and motivating style.
challenge
design and create a physical magazine that inspires people through art and stories, combining various creative disciplines (paintings, drawings, photography, film, and design). the magazine should not only inspire readers but also motivate them to turn their inspiration into action and overcome creative blocks.
my part
my responsibilities within the project were creating three paintings, writing a spoken word and the text and partly the overall design and concept of the magazine.

the magazine consists of art, poetry, photography, and assignments designed to help creatives who feel stuck. the assignments are based on the principles of the 7 habits of highly effective people.

character animation
corporate animation about how to do a job interview
/2024
end result
for this project, i created a corporate cartoon animation using Illustrator and after effects. the animation explains how managers should hire candidates and conduct interviews. through this process, i gained valuable experience with after effects and explored it's many features. i also incorporated ai-generated voices to bring the characters to life, adding an innovative element to the project.
challenge
develop an internal-use animation for a pharmaceutical company, based on a pre-written script that outlines both the narrative and the on-screen text. the animation should convey the story clearly, with a voiceover as background narration. the design, including the visual style, layout, and color palette, is open to creative interpretation and must align with the corporate brand values and tone.
storyboard
all parts were first designed in illustrator. then all frames were animated in after effects.
iterations

based on customer feedback, the designs and colours were adjusted.
plexiglass tile
instore plexiglass tile for maap's store in Amsterdam
/2024
for maap, i created a plexiglass tile. despite having no prior experience working with these materials. the project turned out to be more challenging than expected. i biked across Amsterdam to find the right materials and expertise, and both acquiring decal stickers and sanding the plexiglass tile were more difficult than i had anticipated. overall, i learned a lot about materials and the process of making modern, minimalist plexiglass tiles. the stickers were the biggest challenge, but in the end, both the client and I were proud of the final result.
challenge and context
the challenge of this project was to create a plexiglass tile for a cycling apparel store in Amsterdam, where it would be displayed. the store organizes cycling tours, and the tile’s purpose is to have riders scan a qr code before each ride to sign a waiver form. the tile needed to have a minimalist design, featuring the maap logo and a seamlessly integrated qr code.
process
as you can see on the pictures above the stickers were first not all decal. to get and apply the decal stickers was the biggest challenge of this project.
through this project i learned more about materials - plexiglass, (decal), stickers, laser cutter - and client contact. i really liked working with my hands.
immersive experience with interaction, art & film
/2024
feeling the difference between morning, afternoon and evening through interaction, film and art.
end result
human experience

for this project, i used TouchDesigner to create an immersive experience that encourages participants to consciously experience the different atmospheres of morning, afternoon, and evening. i filmed four different locations during each of these times and created three paintings to represent the unique ambiance of each part of the day. the program measured distance, triggering the appropriate experience based on where the participant stood—morning in one area, afternoon in another, and evening elsewhere. while the technical complexity of TouchDesigner made the execution more challenging than expected, it was a rewarding experience to develop and bring my own project to life.
challenge
design and develop an interactive immersive experience that allows participants to consciously engage with and explore the unique atmospheres of morning, afternoon, and evening. this self-initiated project combines various forms of interaction to enhance emotional and sensory connections to different times of day, encouraging active participation from the audience.

i have made three paintings that represent a part of the day - morning, afternoon and evening. the paintings will be projected on the ground of the immersive space.

evening

i have filmed on four different locations in Amsterdam in morning, afternoon and evening. the films are being projected on the sides of the immersive space.
/interaction
the preconceived desired interaction was: at three different spots in the space changing the films and art to a different part of the day. the difference in spot is calculated by a depth camera.
i designed the interaction in touchdesigner. the image shows how this programs looks.
